What Is Ketamine Infusion Therapy?
Ketamine has been used safely in medical settings for decades. In much lower doses than anesthesia, it is now used to support mental health treatment for depression, PTSD, and anxiety.
Unlike traditional antidepressants that target serotonin or norepinephrine, ketamine works on the brain’s glutamate system, which plays a key role in learning, mood regulation, and neural communication. This is why ketamine can work faster—often within hours or days—rather than weeks.
Many patients describe the feeling as creating mental “space”: space from intrusive thoughts, from emotional overwhelm, or from patterns that previously felt locked in place. That space is where change becomes possible.
How you prepare your body and mind (and how you support yourself afterward) makes a real difference in how lasting the benefits are.
Before Your Infusion

Physical Preparation:
Avoid alcohol and recreational substances for 24 hours. Limit caffeine on the day of treatment.
Safety Requirement:
You must have a responsible adult drive you home. You cannot drive or operate machinery for 24 hours.
Fasting:
Please do not eat solid foods for 6 hours before your appointment. Clear liquids (water/tea) are fine up to 2 hours before.
Medications:
You must have a responsible adult drive you home. You cannot drive or operate machinery for 24 hours.
Mental Readiness
Minimize Stress:
Avoid distressing news or high-stimulus social media before your session.
Set an Intention:
Choose a gentle focus, such as "Stay curious" or "Let go." This serves as an anchor during the experience.
During the Treatment
The experience is unique to every individual. You may feel a sense of detachment, vivid imagery, or a shift in time perception.
The Goal
Your only job during the session is to remain open. There is no "right" way to feel.
Total Safety
Our staff monitors you throughout to ensure total safety and comfort.

Aftercare & Integration
Integration: The Path to Lasting Change
The 48–72 hours following an infusion are a window of increased neuroplasticity. This is the most critical time to "wire in" new habits.
-
Quiet Reflection: Avoid major life decisions or high-stress work immediately after.
-
Low Stimulus: Spend time in nature, journal, or listen to calming music.
-
Therapeutic Support: We strongly recommend scheduling a session with your therapist within 48 hours of treatment to process insights.
